WTCC: Valencia media experience hot laps at the Circuit
Secretary for Tourism and Strategic Projects of the Comunidad Valenciana, Luis Lobón, WTCC General Manager Marcello Lotti and the racetrack's General Manager Gonzalo Gobert attended the launch.
Valencia (30th March 2012).- A representation of media from the Valencia region attended the launch of the WTCC Race of Spain today at Valencia's Circuit Ricardo Tormo. The guests were welcome in the pit lane by Secretary for Tourism and Strategic Projects of the Comunidad Valenciana, Luis Lobón, WTCC General Manager Marcello Lotti and the newly appointed racetrack's General Manager Gonzalo Gobert.
Media representative were given the opportunity to meet a group of drivers, including Spaniards Pepe Oriola, Fernando Monje and Isaac Tutumlu, and finally to experience breathtaking hot laps of the circuit on board of two WTCC racing cars, a Chevrolet Cruze and a SEAT León driven by Rob Huff and Pepe Oriola respectively.
Mr Lobón said: "I'm always very pleased to attend the WTCC event, because these are races for real cars, that are very close to the normal road cars. They are exciting and the fans love them. I wish to congratulate the circuit that, by hosting the only Spanish round of the world championship, every year faces new and more ambitious goals, like keeping the drivers satisfied and organizing events that may attract the spectators."
